Líbia em direção a uma economia de mercado
Gaddafi, há muitos anos, fez sua própria versão do Livro Vermelho de Mao Zedong, o "Livro Verde". Desde então, a economia líbia tomou ares de um socialismo local (algo como: "socialismo adaptado às idéias do governante local que, segundo seu partido, interpreta bem as condições locais).
Entretanto, os tempos mudaram. Nem Gaddafi resistiu ao movimento dos mercados. Nem Gaddafi, nem os EUA, que estão aliviando a barra das sanções econômicas (taí algo que nunca sei se funciona, digo, as tais sanções....veja Cuba por exemplo).
E o pessoal, como na China, tem de rebolar para dizer que a nova interpretação das "sagradas escrituras" de Gaddafi é que é a correta.

"When implementation of the Third Universal Theory began in 1977, eight years after Gaddafi's rise to power, the slogan "partners, not wage earners" translated into collective ownership of the means of production. And this led in turn to a state-controlled economy.
Economics professor and director of Tripoli's Graduate Studies Academy, Saleh Ibrahim, said this was "a wrong interpretation of the Green Book. Market economy does not contradict the Green Book."
"One can contribute with work, but also money, to a company. In the two cases he is a partner," argued Ibrahim, an advisor to the government on transforming the economy.
The need to reform was felt and acknowledged as early as 1986, when an oil price collapse reduced the financial capacity of the government to provide jobs and subsidise production and services".
